About | Adult Cohort | Youth Assembly | Project Space | Photo Club | Events
BICA School is a free alternative art school for artists, curators, and writers. There's no tuition, no application, and no degree — instead, a community to develop your work alongside peers.
The adult cohort meets weekly on Thursday’s at 7 for critiques, reading groups, or admin nights. Participants bring work in progress, respond to what others are making, or come to think through a text together. Participation is open.
Members also sit on committees that plan the school's programs and workshops. These committees organize music shows in the Garage and exhibitions in the BICA School Project Space, located just off the main gallery.
There's no graduation date. People stay involved for as long as it's useful to them.
How to join:
There's no start date, no end date, and no application. You can join BICA School at any point in the year in one of two ways.
Come to a reading group. Sit in on one, or a few, to see if it's a fit before committing.
Or wait for an info session. Once a year, in the summer, BICA School holds info sessions for people who want to learn more before jumping into a reading group. If you'd rather start there, keep an eye out for the summer dates.
Either way, joining means agreeing to our [community agreement →], which outlines how we work together.
